Regularly writes book reviews of the books read and a regular visitor of the library. She always seen to be rectifying the magazine racks and book shelves whenever she is in the library. Volunteered to arrange the books during the book fair conducted during the National Library Week celebrations. She was also caught reading on 29 January 2013 during the lunch break.

Get Caught Reading is a programme initiated by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode to promote reading habit among children.

Republic Day Celebrations 2013

The 64^th Republic Day was celebrated at Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode in a grand scale. The Chief Guest of the day was the honourable Member of Parliament of Palakkad Constituency Mr. M.B Rajesh. Mr. Asgar Ali Pasha, IAS, District Collector Palakkad was the Guest of Honour.

Dr. S. Nalayini, Principal KV Kanjikode welcomed the guests. The Chief Guest distributed prizes and cash awards to the meritorious students of AISSCE and AISSE 2012. A short but sweet cultural programme was put up by the students of the vidyalaya which was followed by an interactive session between the chief guest and the students. The students asked him many questions related to education, corruption, parliamentary affairs, environmental impacts of development, problems faced by students and so on. He stressed role of students in creating social awareness against the exploitation of the natural resources and environmental protection. Answering to a question by the students regarding the assistance to education, he informed the gathering that Rs. 20 lakhs was granted to the Kendriya Vidyalaya for the infrastructure development. The students enthusiastically participated in the session and they much enjoyed the opportunity. Later the chief guest addressed the gathering and praised the prize winning students, sharing his happiness to be among the future citizens interacting with them.

Mrs. K.N Sridevi, President, Pudussery Grama Panchayat and the Panchayat Members Mr. Swamidasan and Mr. T Kannan, Members of PTA and VMC were also present.

The Vidyalaya is celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami VIvekananda with a variety of programmes and competitions. A multimedia quiz was conducted on 21 January 2013 and the books on and by Swami Vivekananda available in our school library was exhibited on 22 January 2013.

Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations

The Vidyalaya will celebrate Swami Vivekananda's 150th Anniversary with a variety of programmes and activities. The celebrations will commence from 21 January 2013.

Library will organise a book exhibition on Swami Vivekananda on 22 January 2013.

A house-wise Multimedia Quiz competition on the Life and works of Swami Vivekananda will be conducted on 21 January 2013 in the Multipurpose Hall.
