Premchand Divas Celebrated

Premchand Divas was celebrated in the Vidyalaya with special assembly programme in the morning assembly. Dr. S Nalayini, Principal garlanded the photo of Munshi Premchand. 

Students presented a skit based on a novel by Munshi Premchand.

An exhibition of the books on and by Premchand was organised in the School Library on 1 August 2016.

School Level Social Science Exhibition Inaugurated

The school level Social Science Exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. S Nalayini, Principal on 30.07.2016 in the multipurpose hall. Students from all classes participated in the exhibition with enthusiasm which was evident from the number of exhibits on display.

Teachers felicitated for best performance in CBSE AISSE/AISSCE 2016

The Vidyalaya honoured the teachers for the excellent performance in CBSE AISSE/AISSCE 2016. Mr. PM Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, VMC gave away the certificates of excellence received from KVS RO Ernakulam in the morning assembly on 22.07.2016. 

In his address the Chairman appreciated the efforts of the Principal and teachers in improving the performance of the students in all spheres of their academic life. He congratulated all the staff and students for the excellent performance. 

Cluster Level Chess Tournament at KV Kanjikode

Razul Haris, U-17 winner

The Kendriya Vidyala Cluster Level Chess Tournament was hosted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode on 21 and 22 July 2016. 113 students from 9 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the Ernakulam Region participated in the tournament. 

Hasna Salim, KV Kanjikode (U-14), Vaishnavi Satheesh, KV Kanjikode (U-17) and Aneena Poulose, KV Thrissur (U-19) emerged as the toppers in the girls category and Jinan Jomon, KV Ottappalam (U-14), Razul Haris, KV Kanjikode (U-17) and Hisham RS, KV Kanjikode (U-19) won the top position in the boys category. 30 students were qualified for the Regional Level Chess tournament. 

Chief Guest Advocate Mr. Sunish K Abraham, Deputy Director, PGN Chess Academy, Palakkad formally inaugurated the tournament and Miss. Lakshmipriya, Former KVS National Champion distributed the certificates to the winners. 

Principal Dr. S Nalayini, chaired the function and welcomed the Guests. Mrs. Sunitha, PRT anchored the inaugural and valedictory sessions.

Vismaya VS wins Mathrubhumi Seed Best Student Award under Vegetable Development Programme

Vismaya VS, Class VIII D won Mathrubhumi Seed Best Student Award under Vegetable Development Programme 2015-16. She received the Award in a the District Level Award Ceremony held at Distict Panchayat Hall, Palakkad on 19.07.2016.

CBSE Avishkar Quiz 2016 Winners

Avishkar quiz was organised in the Vidyalaya on 15.06.2016. The programme was coordinated in the primary section by Mr Thomson, PRT and in the secondary section by Mr. Mujib Rahiman, Librarian. A total of 177 students participated in the competition.

Seed Club - Inauguration of Activities for the Year 2016

The Seed Club activities for the year 2016 was inaugurated today b Mr. Anil Kumar, Krishi Bhavan Pudussery by distributing vegetable seed packets to the members of Seed Club. In the function organised in the Vidyalaya library, Mr. Anil Kumar reminded the students of the importance of organic farming and the need for developing a vegetable garden in each household. He urged the students to act as the promoters of organic farming creating awareness among the public.

Seed Club co-ordinator Mrs. S Santha welcomed the guest. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. P Suchitra. The 367 seed packets were distributed to the selected students in the Vidyalaya.

World Population Day

Vidyalaya observed World Population Day on July 11, 2016 with special programme in the morning assembly. An exhibition on World Population was also organised in the multipurpose hall.
