Kargil Vijay Diwas Quiz

The Kargil War was fought during May-July, 1999, between India and Pakistan in the Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir, along the Line of Control (LoC). This was the first ever Indian war fought, under constant media coverage. Frontline battles were taken into every Indian home, which generated tremendous public support. This boosted the morale of our young soldiers and encouraged them to accomplish greater feats. ‘Operation Vijay’ was launched by India to flush out the Pakistani intruders from Kargil. The war was finally won by India and the whole nation celebrated this victory. However, not all soldiers, who fought in those most treacherous conditions, survived to be a part of this celebration.

India is celebrating 21st Kargil Vijay Divas on 26 July 2020 to commemorate the contribution of our warriors. To inculcate patriotism among students the Government of India is organising a national level quiz.

Terms and Conditions

The Quiz questions are designed carefully to assess the knowledge and understanding about Kargil conflict. 

Each question in the Quiz is in the Multiple Choice Format and with only one correct answer. 

This is a timed quiz with 6 questions to be answered in 60 seconds. 

You are allowed to attempt the Quiz only once and only one option will be accepted for a question. 

After responding to a question, click on the “Next” button to go to the next question. 

No negative marking will be done. After attempting questions, final submission should be clicked. 

No changes can be made after the final submission. 

The quiz will be open for 2 days, starting on 23rd July, 2020 and will close on 27th July 2020 midnight.

 To take part in the Quiz, the participants have to register on mygov.in and fill in the details in the form.

 Each participant will get a digital certificate of participation Those who secure 80% or more marks, will be given merit certificate duly signed by Secretary UGC, Director NCERT and CEO 

MyGov Participants can view their score after the last date of the quiz.

Class I Admission 2020-21 Procedure for admission

Provisionally selected candidates list/ admission schedule will be displayed in the school website and school notice board from 11.08.2020
 Admission may commence from 12.08.2020.
 Parents are requested to keep the following documents ready as the same need to be produced at the time of admission. (Whichever is applicable as per category of admission)
1. Birth certificate (one self-attested photocopy also)
2. Caste certificate in the name of child
3. Service certificate in the prescribed format
4. Certificate showing the transfer details by the competent authority with name and the office seal
5. SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy layer) Certificate in the name of child by the competent authority
6. EWS/BPL certificate from the authority concerned
7. Residence certificate obtained from village officer.
8. Distance declaration certificate
9. SGC affidavit in Rs. 100 stamp paper signed by notary
10. Non family accommodation certificate
11. Ex- service certificate from Zila Sainik board
12. Disability certificate if applicable
13. Printed copy of the online registration form with the latest photo of the child
14. Photocopy of Aadhar card
15. Self declaration form as mentioned in annexure-I

Admission secured on the basis of any wrong certificate shall be cancelled by the Principal forthwith and no appeal against such action of the Principal shall be entertained.

टप्पणी/Note:-
1.  List of children registered, list of eligible children, category-wise list of provisionally selected children, waiting list and subsequent lists to be compulsorily displayed on the web-site of the Kendriya Vidyalayas concerned, in addition to display on School’s Notice Board.
2 If any of the dates happens to be a public holiday the next working day shall be treated as opening/closing date.
3. The studies of Class I will commence from 15 th Sept, 2020 either online or regular in vidyalaya depending upon improvement in situation due to COVID-19.
4. It is brought to your notice that presently around 198 Kendriya vidyalayas across country are being used as Isolation Centre or Quarantine Center by Central/State Government due to pandemic COVID-19. These KVs will be functional for regular classes only after lifting of lockdown and permission from respective authorities.

Admission to Class I in Kendriya Vidyalayas for the Academic Year 2020-2021

Online Registration for Admission to Class I in Kendriya Vidyalayas for the Academic Year 2020-2021 will commence at 10:00 am on 20.07.2020 and will close at 7:00 pm on 07.08.2020. The Admission details can be obtained through website https://kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in and also through Android Mobile App.

The official Android Mobile App for KVS Online Admission for Class I for the academic year 2020-2021 and instructions for downloading and installing the App will be available at https://kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in/apps/ The app will be available at the above URL and also at the Google Play Store. Parents are requested to go through the instructions for using the portal and mobile app carefully before using them.


Registration for Class II and above will be done from 20.07.2020 and 8:00 am to 25.07.2020 upto 4:00 pm if vacancies exist (in offline mode). For Class XI, Registration forms may be downloaded from Vidyalaya Website as per the schedule for admission 2020-2021 available on KVS(HQ) Website (https://kvsangathan.nic.in) 

Reckoning of age for all Classes shall be as on 31.03.2020. Reservation of seats will be as per KVS Admission Guideline available on the Website (https://kvsangathan.nic.in)

Under present situation of COVID -19, the directions issued by Competent Authority (Central/State/Local) are to be followed. Accordingly, the parents are requested not to visit Kendriya Vidyalayas physically to avoid gathering. All information regarding Admission, Registration form will be available on Vidyalaya/KVS (HQ) website for download. Kindly fill the Registration form, Scan it and send it to concerned KV through email only.
