Principal and Teachers Felicitated by VMC Chairman

Mr. P K Vasisht, Chairman, VMC felicitated the Principal and the teachers of the Vidyalaya in the morning assemble today for the outstanding performance in CBSE AISSCE 2019. The Vidyalaya ranked first in KVS at national level by securing the highest PI of 87.57 in AISSCE 2019. The Vidyalaya also came third in KVS at national level in AISSE (Class X) 2019.

Mr. Abdul Shumz, TGT Social Science who received the Gurushreshta Award 2019 instituted by All India Awardee Teachers Association was also felicitated by the Chairman in the morning assembly today.

The Vidyalaya bade adieu to our beloved Principal, Mrs. K Rajeswari, today (31 May 2019) who retired on  superannuation after putting in 35 years of meritorious service in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Mr. P K Vasisht, Chairman,  VMC, and Mr. Harikrishnan, Chairman Nominee, VMC,  were present during the function. Ms. Keerthana , Class XII (2018-19 batch) and Ms. Anagha, Class V paid tributes to their beloved Principal Madam and wished her all the best on behalf of the students. Students of Class XII and the members of Nallapadam Club felicitated the Principal.  Mrs. Rugmini Menon, TGT (English) spoke on behalf of the members of staff, pointing out the milestones during the tenure of Madam's sevice and mentioning the achievements that the staff and students of KV Kanjikode had gained at various levels, during the last three  years. Mr. Vasisht, Chairman VMC,  appreciated the steps taken by her to bring the Vidyalaya to such great heights.

In her farewell speech, Mrs. Rajeswari, Principal thanked the staff and students for all the co-operation extended to her and also wished them all  success in future. She expressed her wish to see the Vidyalaya scaling greater heights in the future.
After the lunch offered by the Principal and a Group Photo Session, a Staff Meeting was convened at 2.00 pm, which was attended by the Chairman, Nominee Chairman and the family members of Mrs. K Rajeswari.

Mrs. Anitha G, PGT (Maths) felicitated Principal Madam on behalf of the Staff Club. Mr. Vasisht and Mrs. Vasisht also felicitated madam on behalf of the VMC.

PRMO Examination for Mathematical Olympiad 2019-20

The PRMO (Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad) Examination 2019 will be conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai on 11th August 2019 across the country in all Kendriya Vidyalayas through Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) and Mathematics Teachers Association (MTA).

The qualification of the next stage of the Olympiad, namely the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) will be based on the performance in the PRMO examination on a basis of regional quota system. Top 300 Kendriya Vidyalaya students will be selected as eligible for the RMO Examination. In the case of Kendriya Vidyalaya, which forms a special region on its own, up to 5% of the registered students can be selected for the RMO examination stage.

Class 12 students appearing for PRMO will be selected on the basis of a separate quota, up to 01% of the total number of KV students registered for the PRMO exam.
The examination fee for KV students will be INR 125/-

Introduction of two levels of Mathematics for All India Secondary School Examination (Class X)

CBSE has decided to introduce two levels of examination in Mathematics for the students who are going to appear in the Boar examination for the academic session ending March 2020 onwards. The details of this scheme are as under:

  • The two levels of Examination will be held in the subject of Mathematics in the Board examination for Class X in the year 2020 and the same shall not be applicable to the internal assessment in class X. 
  • There shall not be two levels of Assessment/Examination for class IX. 
  • First level would be the same as the existing one, and the other would be an easier level. 
  • The nomenclature for the two Examinations will be; Mathematics-Standard for the existing level of examination, and Mathematics-Basic for the easier level of examination. 
  • The syllabus, class room teaching and internal assessment for both the levels of examination would remain the same; so that the students get an opportunity to study the whole range of topics throughout the year and are able to decide upon the level of Board examination depending upon their aptitude and abilities. 
  • The Standard level will be meant for students who wish to opt for Mathematics at Sr. Secondary level and the Basic level would be for students not keen to pursue Mathematics at higher levels. 
  • A student will have the right to choose between the two levels of Examination at the time of submission of List of Candidates (LoC) by the affiliated school to the Board online. 
  • In case student fails at any level of Mathematics, he/she can appear at the compartment examination as per norms of the Board according to the options given below:

  • A student who qualifies the Mathematics-Basic, shall be given an option to appear in Mathematics-Standard at the time of Compartment exams as per norms of the Board, in case he/she changes his/her mind to pursue Mathematics at Senior Secondary level.

AISSCE 2019 KV Kanjikofe Ranked First in KVS

KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA - GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION TO CLASS XI


KV Students:Admission in different streams viz Science, Commerce, Humanities of Class XI in KVs for KV students will be based on aggregate marks scored in class X exams as under: 

1. Science Stream: A minimum of 60% Marks in aggregate of all subjects. 

2. Commerce: A minimum of 55% Marks in aggregate of all subjects. 

3. Humanities Stream: All students of KV if declared successful in class X exam 

Note:- If seats remain vacant in class XI even after Admitting the children of KV/ neighboring KVs then the admissions to non - KV children may be granted on the same criteria, in the sequence of categories of priority. 

However, there could be instances of lower enrolment in Class XI in some KVs, especially those located in hard stations and remote areas after applying the above criteria for admission. In such an eventuality, Principal of the KV concerned should send the proposal of lowering the eligibility criteria for various streams along with the details of registration, No. of eligible students, etc. to the

Deputy Commissioner of the region. The Deputy Commissioner may use her/his discretion in lowering the eligibility criteria to the extent as indicated below.

KV Students:
Admission in different streams viz Science, Commerce, Humanities of Class XI in KVs for KV students will be based on Marks scored in class X exams as under:
1. Science Stream: A minimum of 55% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
2. Commerce: A minimum of 50% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
3. Humanities Stream: All students of KV if declared successful in class X exam.

Note:- If seats remain vacant in class XI even after admitting the children of KV/ neighboring KVs then the admissions to non - KV children may be granted on the same criteria, in the sequence of categories of priority.

Concessions wherever applicable shall be incorporated while preparing the Merit List.

 a. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in aggregate of all subjects, the inter-se merit of such candidates may be determined as follows:
(i) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Maths will get precedence in admission.
(ii) If two or more candidates have got the same marks in Maths, then the candidates securing higher marks in Maths and Science taken together will get precedence over the others.
(iii) In case of a tie between two or more candidates obtaining same marks in maths and science taken together, the student older in age as per the D.O.B will be given precedence over the other.
b. Principal may admit non-KV children to class XI only upto the permitted class strength (40). In case of KV Children, normally the class strength be restricted to 55. However to accommodate the eligible KV students over 55, efforts should be initiated to open additional sections.
c. A student who was earlier not found eligible for admission to a particular stream may be allowed fresh admission to a particular stream in class XI in the next academic session, if he/she improves his/her performance within one year from the same Board.

Note: Informatics Practices as an elective subject is offered to all streams. Admission to this would be granted as per the combined merit list. Computer Science / Bio-Technology, wherever available as an elective subject, is to be offered to students of Science Stream and admission would be granted as per combined merit list. Multi-media & WebDesigning Technology (wherever available) as elective subject may be offered to students of all the streams (Commerce, Humanities & Science) as per combined merit list.

THE FOLLOWING CONCESSIONS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR ADMISSION FOR CLASS XI
(A) The following concession will be granted to students for admission who participated in Games & Sports meet/Scouting & Guiding/NCC/Adventure activities at various levels. The certificate needed for this purpose can be of any of the preceding years

Note: Maximum concession under Sports/Games/NCC/Scout/Guide/Adventure will not exceed 6% Marks in aggregate. In case of eligibility for more than one concession under different categories as mentioned at (A) and (B) above, only one concession having maximum advantage to the candidate will be allowed. (The same benefit may be extended to non-KV Students for fresh admission in KVs.)

STUDENTS OF N.I.O.S / STATE BOARDS / ICSE FOR ADMISSION IN CLASS XI IN KENDRIYA VIDYALAYAS 
The students of State Boards/ICSE/NIOS be considered for admission in class XI if vacancies exist.



For KV students: Registration for admission in class XI to be done within 10 days after declaration of Board results

The students who wish to join Class XI in Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode for the Academic Session 2019-20 will be required to to submit the duly filled OPTION FORM FOR SELECTION TO CLASS XI 2019-20 on or before the due date to the Vidyalaya Office. 

The option form will be available on School Website and this blog immediately after the announcement of Class X (AISSE 2019) results by CBSE.
