CBSE Circular: GOLDEN JUBILEE COMMEMORATION OF THE INDO-PAK WAR 1965

The Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 saw the Indian and Pakistani Air Forces engaged in large scale
aerial combat against each other for the first time since the partition of India, in 1947.
The war took place during the course of September 1965, on the Western front, and saw both air forces conduct defensive and offensive operations over their airspace. Fifty years after the two countries fought the war, the countless acts of courage, sacrifice and heroism of the Indian Armed Forces and the Central Police Organisations are, today, testified by their medals and citations. Their accounts bring recollections, and serve as the basis to rebuild a collage of experiences to be shared with our students.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: 15th-20th September 2015

HIGHLIGHTS:
 An exhibition to showcase the rich tradition of valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces & Central Police Organisations, with particular reference to the 1965 War will be organised on the Rajpath lawns.
 Commemorative Carnival on 20th September 2015 (Sunday), which will include various Indian martial arts demonstrations and adventure activities of the Armed Forces, hot air balloon rides, food courts, besides many other activities .
 Please note: A special time slot has been earmarked in the exhibition exclusively for school students on all week days from 15th-20th September 2015, 9 am to 11 am.
On 20th September 2015 (Sunday), the Exhibition and Carnival will be open to students and general public for the entire day, from 9 am to 6 pm. The 06–day event will be highly educative, motivating and enjoyable for students, besides instilling in them, the sense of pride in the Nation and its Armed Forces. The event will also foster the spirit of adventure and a sense of patriotism among students.

The Board, therefore, requests School Heads to ensure the attendance of a large number of students from their schools located especially in Delhi NCR.
